She was born in the United States, and her background is a mix of Norwegian, German, and Puerto Rican heritage — something she has mentioned a few times as part of what makes her who she is. Before any cameras or studios entered the picture, she was working simple jobs, including bartending, until she decided in 2006 that she wanted to try something completely different. That choice ended up defining the next stage of her life.
